Kit Form Services or KFS for short was set up in March of 1987 by me, Howard Whitehead, a former commercial vehicle mechanic with 20 years experience `on the spanners`. My modelling background is much like that of most modellers, I started as a boy of about 6 years old with my first Airfix Spitfire & well, things just snowballed from there.

The company is still, as it always has been, a one man operation with the odd helping of assistance from Mr`s KFS. Initially the work of KFS revolved solely around the building of commission models for customers in the road transport industry. It was not long before I started to identify a definate lack of available conversion parts to make the Italeri & Revell kits (the basis of most of my commission built models) more accurate & realistic.

The only answer therefore was to learn how to resin cast & make the parts I needed for myself. Word got out that I was making resin parts to convert Italeri kits at roughly the same time as the inception of TMW magazine & before long I was advertising parts for sale on a regular basis with fresh products coming on line almost every month. Other like minded modellers soon made their interest known & before long the range had expanded to include waterslide decals, photoetch parts & imported ranges from the USA & Australia as well as my own range of resin. Today the range is so big that KFS no longer cast resin parts in house, everything we carry is professionaly made for us out of house.

At this point in time KFS have taken a further step along the resin after-market parts path by introducing the superb quality TQ Range of cast resin items as well as maintaining the more cost effective & budget minded Standard Range. KFS seeks to supply quality parts & modelling aids at a value for money price from both home & abroad.

For the TQ Range we use without doubt the best resin casting company in the country, & the UK`s top quality manufacturers for the waterslide decals & photoetch parts. The range is constantly changing with old parts being deleted or updated, new parts being introduced & new foreign suppliers being sought.
